And the Winner Is tells the comic story of Tyler Johnes, a self-obsessed movie star, who is finally nominated for an Oscar, but dies the night before the awards. Outraged at his bad luck and determined to know if he wins (even though he's dead), he bargains with a heavenly gatekeeper to return to earth for the big night. Along the way, he drags his agent, his acting rival, his bombshell girlfriend and his ex-wife into the journey, in a wildly twisting tale of Hollywood, the afterlife, and how we are judged.

Audition information:
There will be cold readings from the script and NO MONOLOGUESPlease DO NOT audition if you have conflicts with ANY performance dates. All Auditioners are strongly encouraged to read the acting script prior to auditions. The script is available from Dramatists Play Service.

Rehearsals will generally be Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. Rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions. Auditioners are asked to make note of any known conflicts during the rehearsal period.

(Please note: Actors auditioning should be capable of portraying the approximate ages of the characters - the actual age of the actors is incidental.)

Tyler Johnes	male	30-40	He is a self-absorbed, narcissistic Hollywood actor with an Oscar nomination. He is trying very hard to stay in the acting game and will do almost anything to have his talent recognized by his peers and fans, even if it means loosing his wife,himself and his life in the process. The actor should be very comfortable being in underwear and shirtless at points throughout the show.
Seamus	male		ageless - Heavenly Gatekeeper light Irish Brogue, It's a wonderful Life Clarence-type character.
Kyle Morgan	male	24-36	He's a sexy smooth, cocky young actor. Tyler's rival and actor partner also with Oscar nomination. Actor should be comfortable being shirtless at points throughout show.
Teddy LaPetite	male	30-59	Tyler and Kyle's sleazy self absorbed, agent. Light French accent required (can be a bad interpretation of a French accent)
Sheri	female	30-49	Tyler's soon to be ex-wife. She is very caring, loving, and sympathetic. Still cares deeply for Tyler and only wants the best for him.
Serenity	female	20-30	She is a very Sexy Bombshell of an actress. She plays dumb and ditzy very well, yet she also knows what she wants and how to get it.
